"I like meeting with her because she prepares lessons for me and she coaches me. She never gets mad if I make a mistake. She is a wonderful tutor. " - Basic Literacy Learner

Literacy Network matches learners with trained tutors for free. All tutors are volunteers. Each tutor-learner pair work together a minimum of two hours a week. Some tutors are able to meet in their learner's home; others meet in a library or other public place. We work to find the best tutor to meet your needs.
We encourage tutors and learners to sign a contract together. In the contract, both tutor and learner agree to work together for six months and to come to all lessons on time. Tutors try to teach the reading and writing skills that a learner wants in order to reach their goals, such as passing the GED or finding work.
If you want to ask about getting a tutor for yourself or for someone you know, please contact Tutoring Director Brian Anderson at this address: brian ["at" symbol] litnetwork [dot] org or call 608-244-3911.
